Report:

on the 5th April, 1946 and 9th April, 1946 accompanied by the Furnes’ Gendarme I visited Monsieur H. Capoen of Furnes at Adinkerke who states: « On the middle of March 1944 a British Bomber crashed in a German Battery position near my farm. i did not see the aircraft, but I could see the light from the fire. In the morning a Pole in the German Army whom I knew, told me that two English flyers had been killed in the crash.

Later on during that daybmemebers of the German A.F.’s ground crew came to the scene of the accident and removed the two bodies to be buried in the coxyde cemetery.
