En octobre 1942, le sergent Augustine Brannigan était dans le 1652 HCU (Unité d’entraînement sur bombardiers lourds), basé à Marston Moore dans le Yorkshire. Marston Moore était une base d’entraînement pour le groupe 4 du Bomber Command. Le 1652 HCU était responsable de l’apprentissage des équipes sur les bombardiers lourds quadrimoteurs. Le 31 octobre 1942, pendant un entraînement, le Sergent Augustine Brannigan (RAFVR), second pilote est blessé dans le crash du Halifax R9433 près de Weburn, Malton, Royaume-Uni.

In October 1942, Sgt Augustine Brannigan was  in 1652 HCU (Heavy Conversion Unit), based at RAF Marston Moor in Yorkshire. RAF Marston Moor was a training base for No 4 Group, Bomber Command. 1652 HCU  was responsible for teaching crews how to fly the four-engined heavy bombers. On 31st October 1942, during training, the Sgt Augustine Brannigan (RAFVR), second pilot is injured in the crash of the Halifax R9433 near Welburn, Malton UK. 11 Mai 1943 – Halifax II BB380 KN-? Entraînement 77 Squadron – Pilote, Sgt. A. Brannigan Décollage à 18h15 de Elvington mais a balancé violemment et a traversé une haie avant de s’immobiliser, des dommages au train d’atterrissage avant irréparables. Un membre d’équipage a été légèrement blessé « .

11 May 1943  –  Halifax II  BB380   KN-?  Training 77 Squadron  –  Pilot, Sgt. A. Brannigan T/o (took off) 1815 from Elvington but swung violently and ran through a hedge before coming to a halt, damaged beyond repair.  One crew member was slightly hurt.”
